in Providence, RI to a Navy family containing 5 boys, including him and his twin brother, the family traveled quite a bit.  Mr. Brown's father was saved while stationed in Cuba and began to pray for the salvation of his family.  At the age of 13 Mr. Brown heard the gospel, was saved, and began to feel the Lord's call upon his life.  He eventually attended Tennesee Temple High School and Tennesee College where he met his future wife, Betsy Buck.  After dating for three years they married, graduated, and prayed for God's will for their future.  God answered with a call as Youth Pastor and Children's Ministry Director in Rocky Mount, NC.  After working in this ministry for 16 months they were led to serve as teachers at PCS and became valuble and dedicated members of Biltmore Baptist. In June of 1997 Mr. Brown entered Central Baptist Theological Seminary and graduated in 2000 with a Master's degree in Biblical Studies after which he was ordained and began his ministry as Associate Pastor at Biltmore Baptist Church.

Who Is Our Pastor EMERITUS?

Born September 12,1927, in Pinehurst, North Carolina, to William and Mary Frye, T. M. Frye was the fifth child in a family of fifteen. He graduated from Carthage High School in 1945.  He served in the 82nd Airborne Division of the U. S. Army.  As a young soldier, he was stationed in South Carolina where he met his future wife, Shirley Burnett, in 1946.  After completing his military service, Pastor Frye began his ministerial education at The Moody Bible Institute of Chicago.  He later received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the Norfolk College of William and Mary.  Pastor Frye was ordained in the Summer Hill Baptist Church, Carthage, NC, under the ministry of Dr. William Hancock on June 3, 1951.

In 1952, Pastor Frye accepted the call to become the Pastor of Biltmore Baptist Church.  Over sixty years after receiving the call to serve at Biltmore Baptist Church, Pastor Frye continues to preach the Gospel and entertain his church audience with the wealth of poetry and Scriptures he has memorized over the years.  The church considers it a true privilege to be blessed with a faithful servant such as Reverend T. M. Frye.  In today’s world, many may hold the title “preacher,” but there are not many true pastors like Thornton Maness Frye.
